01 coming 2026

A communities-first social network.

Conversations need a place to live. Postopia pairs a fast personal feed with deep, persistent communities — actual rooms, with their own moderation, members, and personality. Built for thoughtful people. Free of paid checkmarks and black-box ranking.

02 two surfaces, one network

Your feed and your rooms.

Postopia has two halves that live side by side. Your personal feed is built from the people you follow — short posts, threads, photos, and short video, mixed inline. Communities are the rooms — persistent places with their own moderation, members, and personality, where conversations have a context that doesn't dissolve at scroll speed.

Replies that actually thread.

Reply structure is visually first-class. You can see who's replying to whom, where a thread branches, and how deep you are. Conversations stay legible, even as they grow.

Short video, inline.

Sixty seconds, vertical or horizontal, in your feed alongside text. No vertical-scroll trap surface. Ever.

03 how it ranks in communities

Experts surface, not just opinions.

Inside a community, ask a question and Postopia surfaces answers from people whose credentials have been verified — a cardiologist's take on heart-rate variability ranks above the loudest take in the room. Verification is free, earned, and authoritative: licensed practitioners get jurisdiction-aware credential pins, checked against public registries. No paid badges. Ever.

Every post in a community feed comes with a why am I seeing this affordance — ranking is inspectable, not magic.

04 the first postopia

A tribute, then a games platform.

From 2001 to 2011, postopia.com was a games portal run by Skyworks Technologies and Post Cereals — divided into four themed regions, each with its own characters and games. It closed in 2011, and most of those games are now lost media.

A place online can have its own personality. the thread we keep

/legacy and /games

/legacy will host an editorial archive of the original — pointing to the Internet Archive's preservation of the recovered games (we don't host those; the IP belongs to Post Cereals). /games will be a hosting platform for indie web games: free hosting, no inserted ads, devs keep all rights.

Stated principles, day one.

No paid verification.

Identity is a fact, not a subscription tier.

Your activity isn't a product traded to outside parties.

No black-box ranking.

Every feed item explains itself. Algorithms answer to the people they show things to.

Block means block.

Blocked users can't see, reply via mutuals, or be quoted at the blocker.
